A note about standard shipping: Packages sent via standard shipping go by surface mail. Shipping time varies widely depending on the destination. In our experience, standard shipments take about 2 to 3 weeks to Canada, 6 weeks to the United Kingdom, 6 to 8 weeks to Japan and Australia, and 10 to 12 weeks to Brazil, to name a few.

Standard Shipping method
Standard Shipping is not available for CD orders; the least expensive international CD shipping method is DHL World Mail. If you select Standard Shipping for your 1-Click orders, your CDs will be sent via World Mail and your books will be sent via the Standard Shipping method; this is less expensive for you than sending both your books and CDs via DHL World Mail (see prices above).

World Mail or Worldwide Priority Express
If you select DHL World Mail or DHL Worldwide Priority Express, we will ship all titles in your order via the Shipping method you specify (see prices above).

Important Shipping Facts

A Next Day Air Cautionary Note

Upgrading to Next Day Air does not mean you will get your order the next day.
Once shipped, Next Day Air packages are guaranteed to arrive at the end of the next business day. Please note, however, that upgrading method of shipment to Next Day or 2nd Day Air does not change how long it takes us to assemble and ship your order--it only reduces the travel time after your order leaves our warehouse. For example, an item marked as "Usually ships within 2 to 3 days" and upgraded to Next Day Air will usually leave our warehouse on the 2nd or 3rd business day and reach you on the 3rd or 4th business day.

Ordering Books and CDs with Different Availabilities

• "Make one shipment when complete order is ready"
  Choosing this option on the order form means that we will wait until we have all the items in your order before shipping any of them. For example, if you order one book or CD marked as "Usually ships within 2 to 3 days" and another marked "Special Order: usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks," we will ship both to you when the special-order book becomes available.
• "Ship as ordered books or CDs become available"
  Choosing this option on the order form means that each book or CD you order will be shipped as it becomes available. Your shipping charges will increase, but, to save you some money, we make an effort to ship books and CDs as soon as we obtain them while not making any more shipments than necessary.
• Out-of-Print Titles
  Any out-of-print books in your order will automatically be shipped separately, even if you choose "Make one shipment when complete order is ready."
• 1-Click Orders
  Unless you change your 1-Click settings mid-session, all 1-Click orders you place within a 90-minute period will be combined as follows:

  Domestic and U.S. Protectorate Orders:

  • Items that ship in 24 hours or 2-3 days will be shipped together.
  • Items with availability of longer than 2-3 days will be shipped together.

  • Books with 24 hour or 2-3 day availability will be shipped together via the Standard Shipping method.
  • Books with availability categories of longer than 2-3 days will be shipped together via the Standard Shipping method.
  • CDs with 24 hour or 2-3 day availability will be shipped together by World Mail.
  • CDs with availability of longer than 2-3 days will be shipped together via World Mail.

Customs Information

Customs forms for all international packages list the value of your order's contents by product type. For instance, orders containing both CDs and books will be listed in a way similar to the following example:

Books value:    $29.55
CDs value:      $ 9.95

If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the items is still stated on the customs form. Currently, we are not able to describe the contents in any other way.

Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches its destination country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you may want to contact your local customs office for further information.
